Management Development
Managers are really paid to do one thing – achieve results through others. Managers are responsible for achieving the goals and objectives set by their employer through their team; their ability to advise, motivate and guide their team determines how successful they are in achieving these goals and objectives. Yet very few managers actually have any formal training and development in the basic principles of management. Consequently, many managers’ results fall short of their true ability and commitment.
Successful managers don’t need to be MBA students, although MBA disciplines will certainly help. However, successful managers do tend to follow some simple and proven principles. For example, how to Plan, Organise and Control their business – understanding these three skills alone can make a big difference to the performance of their team.
